BIOGRAPHY
OF JENIFER & LARRY WOLF
My
birth city was Manchester England. I have two children, a daughter and
son. This is a little bit of Trivia for our friends in the UK - my Father
was Head Chef on the Royal Train travelling from London, England to
Edinburgh, Scotland, also on the Britannia for the King and Queen before
the War.
This
wife and husband dancing duo have been teaching together for the past
4 1/2 yrs, however, Jenifer has been teaching much longer, and has taught
all forms of dance since 1985, after receiving her Teacher's training
at Fred Astaire Studios.
She has furthered her studies and training, to teach and judicate with
Country Western Dance International CWDI, WSDC through the Golden State
Dance Teacher's Association (GSDTA). using the Universal Unit System.
have taken teacher's training through the Vancouver School Board. Took
training for judicating dancing, and compulsory Dance Skating, which
helps in dance with the technique.
Have choreographed, competed, and won in various Country Western Dance
Competitions such as Two Step, Waltz, Jive & West Coast Swing, Polka,
and Shottice'. It is important to have started at the bottom and experience
all of this before taking any teacher's training. I believe, as many
other certified instructors do, that it is important to have experience
and knowledge to pass on to your students in class, not just teach some
moves. Today, Jenifer is actively competing in choreography.
Being
a certified judicator in line and couples dancing, as a Gold member
of the WSDC, of Country Western Dance International (CWDI), I have been
invited to teach and judge in out of town events. Have had the priviledge
of being invited to teach and judge in Australia, Arizona, California,
Ontario, Alberta. Have been invited to be Head Judge in the teams Div.
and Choreography Div., and have judged couples. This gives me the opportunity
to travel and meet some new dancers. Have been the President, Western
Canada Regional Director, and webmaster for CWDI. (Country Western Dance
International). We were co-hosts for the event D4D, am the Event Director
for Vancouver Vibrations Dance Festival.
Currently
am teaching classes in Line Dancing, West Coast Swing, at various Community
Centres and the Vancouver, Surrey, & Langley School Boards, British
Columbia, Canada. Give private dance lessons and teach for party's and
special groups. My experience extends to being event director and co-ordinating
special events, such as at Canada Place, WSDC Vancouver Vibrations,
and Demos.
Prior
to my present dance career, I first earned bars in roller-skating, then
taught adult classes in Compulsory Dance Roller Skating as a Professional
Skater. This has contributed to my knowledge and unique style to dancing.
Worked
for many years as a hairstylist, the requests
I get from dancers and other performers to cut and style their hair
is an additional bonus to the over all presentation.
Bio
of Larry - Larry has been dancing with Jenifer for 13 years. He has
been teaching with her for the past 4 1/2 yrs, and is the DJ for all
their ho down party's.
Larry is the event co-ordinator, and scorer for the competitions at
Vancouver Vibrations.
He has taken training through Jenifer and share all their knowledge
of dance and music together.
Larry is an Applied Science Technologist and was a part time certified
Ski instructor in BC., before he started to dance.
Together we share our passion for dance and music with others through
teaching.
When
not dancing, we each have a motorcylce, riding them every chance we
get. have taken trips up to the Yukon and through the Canadian Rockies,
across Canada to Nova Scotia, Cape Bretton Island, back through the
US to Sturgis South Dakata and back up to Surrey, British Columbia.
We are both Chapter Educuators for the motorcycle club.
We have moved as of last July 1st., closer to the Canadian Rockes,
have 2 Jack Russell pups, which we enjoy very much.
Go out on our Quad riding in the back country when we are not
riding our motorcycles, and have been doing a lot of gardening.
